  • Why did you want to get into healthcare or why are you in healthcare?

  • Name a time that you had a difficult coworker. How did you handle it?

  • What decisions are the most difficult for you?

  • Name a time or how would you deal with a decision your boss made that you disagree with?

  • Why do you think you would be a good fit for this position?


Remember

  • Formula for answering interview questions:

  • Problem + solution + outcome

  • Problem identification + prevention + solution

  • Interviewers want to hear that you want to stay at the company for a while

  • Print the job description and write down the specific examples you have that show you have the skills that are required for the jobs

  • Find quantifiable examples

  • If you don’t have an example from work – can pull from education, volunteering, etc.


Tips & Tricks

  • Test your equipment the day before your interview

    • Find a quiet, well-lit room

    • Recheck your internet connection

    • Double-check your camera

    • Practice with your Career Services Advisor

  • Stay focused

    • Minimize distractions around you

    • Review your notes beforehand, but do not read from them

    • Review the job description and have your resume/cover letter close at hand

  • Always reach out and say thank you for the interview

    • Typically done via email within 24 hours

    • This can help build a stronger connection and make you stand out if the field is close!
