FAQs for Career Services
Answers are applicable to fully Online students. Programs include HCA, BSHCA, BSPTA, BSRS, BSRT, MSOL, and Radiography-Bridge programs.
How are Online PMI commencements celebrated? Twice a year, PMI Online hosts virtual commencements to honor our graduates. On-ground commencements are not offered for fully Online students. When is my graduation date? Your official graduation date which will appear on both your transcripts and diploma is the last official day of your program. The celebration to honor your graduation is held virtually twice a year. Details will be emailed to your PMI email.
Can I choose to attend a ground ceremony? PMI Online does not host on-ground commencements at this time. PMI Online has students and graduates located globally. Therefore, virtual commencements allow us to serve the greater student body at this important time.
How does Career Services help me? Online Career Services focuses on job search support (resumes, cover letters, mock interviews, etc.) in an attempt to help guide you and build your confidence as you navigate your job search. We are here to give you the tools and guidance so you can research and apply for the positions that interest you. If this is something you are interested in, please feel free to send over your resume and/or cover letter and we would be happy to take a look at it for you. Online Career Services offers ongoing career development support throughout your post-graduate career.
Does Health Care Administration have externships? No, neither our AAS nor BS Health Care Administration programs have an externship component.
What if I need proof of graduation before I receive my diploma? You can view your unofficial transcript in your Student Portal and/or request official transcripts from the Alumni website. Each document will reflect the date your degree was conferred.
What is the best way to reach Online Career Services? You can reach out to anyone in Career Services via email or phone. If you want to reach out to the entire department, you can email us at onlinecareerservices@pmi.edu! Personal emails are located on the CS Directory page of the Online Student Resource Center.
What can I do with my PMI Online degree? You can reach out to your Online Career Services team at onlinecareerservices@pmi.edu. You can also view the ‘How to Enter the Health Care Field’ section on the Career Services page of the Online Student Resource Center.
How do I order grad attire (cap and gown)? As your graduation date approaches, your Online Career Services team will email you an order form. There is no extra charge to you.
What GPA do I need to have to receive an honors distinction upon your program completion? You must have at least a 3.75 GPA to receive an honors distinction when graduating. PMI does not distinguish between 'laude' statuses.
When will I get my diploma? Currently, your diploma will be mailed via USPS to you between 4-6 weeks after the completion of your program. Make sure the mailing address on your Student Portal is correct.
What is the PMI Alumni Association? Am I a member and what are the benefits? Once you graduate, you are also part of the PMI Alumni Association! We care about your ongoing success and want you to stay in touch. Log in to https://alumni.pmi.edu/ with your student portal credentials. Some of the benefits include:

How long are my classes and books accessible? Your classes are available for two weeks after the completion of that course. Each book has an expiration date through your VitalSource account. Most books are available for five years from the date of first access.
Does my PMI laptop belong to me? Yes, the computer is yours to keep.
